I have a golden doodle. She is pretty curly and gets matted up a lot. What is the best way to prevent mats and get rid of them? I try to brush her as often as I can, but it usually only realistically happens about once a week now. What are some good ways to prevent mats? I know dogs like that should be brushed everyday, but it is hard to find the time.

Well, if you can't brush her everyday which seems to be mandatory for dogs with long or double coats, then you might as well have her fur cut. I'm not sure how the puppy cut looks on a golden doodle but maybe you could check it out.

I heard that spraying some mink oil on the dogs fur can help so it doesn't tangle again after brushing the dog's hair.

I think that a good shampoo which is specially designed for dogs might help. My dog have long hair and I find it much easier to brush him after using this shampoo. It's quite expensive but worth the money. A good brush is a big help too.
