    Haha!

This dog literally "walks himself" on a leash by carrying the leash himself. I think it's cute, although I hope the area is pretty quiet so there aren't issues with him potentially running out into the road while not technically leashed.

Figures. Some people decide to train their dogs to walk themselves rather than spend time walking their dogs themselves. That retriever is just adorable.

Jess, I can't wait for you to post a thread of a dog using a pooper scooper. ;)

    My contribution to the thread...

Lol! It would be great if my Homer knew how to do both of these things. I mean, walking him is pleasant, I like doing it because it relaxes me, but if he could walk himself early in the morning instead of begging me to do it, I'd be very grateful:p

Oh wow...these are just amazing!! My pups can actually open the door by himself to go out. And he knows how to knock when the door is closed. Amazingly, we didn't teach him all these...he learnt it by watching us doing it. It incredible. When I tell my friends about it they do not believe me...they think it's a bluff. I think I need to make movies of him and post them online ;)

I don't think my dog will ever learn to walk herself. Whenever we go for walks she is easily distracted and often tries to run to different objects to investigate. She also loves chasing cats so she might end up who knows where if I let the leash go. It would be great if I coud train her though. What did your friend do to train the dog to walk alone?

So cute to watch those dogs walk themselves. And so great to see a dog clean his own poop! :D

It's the same with my Homer. If he tried to walk himself, we would probably never see him again, because he would end up chasing random cats and he would never come home. He really hates cats:eek:

My grandparents used to have a black labrador, they lived near the sea and the dog would take itself for a walk through the town and down to the beach for a swim. He would do this every day of the year no matter what the weather. The distance to the beach was about a mile from home and he got to become a bit of a local celebrity because of this.

He was a very affectionate dog and would stop along the way to go up to people he knew and get lavished with attention.

Awww, how cute!!!!! I don't think I'd ever let my dog walk himself outside, specially not in my neighborhood, because it is full of dogs! But i bet it's the cuttest thing one can see :) Some dogs are so smart! But I'd still be afraid if my dog ran after another dog if it crosses her path.

Is your girl aggressive towards other dogs? My Homer definitely is, especially towards big breeds. He really doesn't like bulldogs, labradors and bull terriers.

Oh no, she isn't aggressive, we socialized properly. I learnt that the hard way... he dog I told you about (the vicious one that attacked my childhood friend) wasn't properly socialized. So I knew that the next time I'd get a dog I'd need to invest a lot time on socializing it. So I did it and now she is playful with other dogs. Wow really? He hates those 3 the most? He knows what he likes and what he doesn't

He definitely does. He also hates people with walking sticks and big, white cars, lol;) I can't tell you how many times he tried to attack them. I wish he was less aggressive!

Haha, that was so cute! I don't think Capone will do this, walked himself with the leash in his mouth, he would chew it to pieces!

That is the cutest thing I have ever seen. I did not know some dogs actually do that. What breed of dog is he/she? He kind of looks like a lab. I know they are really smart.
