Since this is the Off-Topic forum, I guess I will post something off topic then :)

I've been up since way too early this morning, and I was trying to hold off making breakfast until a reasonable time, but I couldn't hold out any longer.

I've been trying to reduce my carbs a little (not a full blown no carb diet, just cut back some). So I made a breakfast burrito with Santa Fe Tortilla Company's whole grain tortilla (they're really good, super soft and easy to roll up). I filled it with scrambled eggs, bacon, a 4 cheddar blend, and some sauteed mushrooms. Some strawberries and cantaloupe on the side, and I'm nursing a strong cup of coffee right now.

To be honest I haven't even thought of breakfast this morning. I am feeling up tight over a personal matter, so my appetite just isn't there. I guess I should think of eating something.

That burrito sounds delicious! You are making me hungry!

I think my favourite breakfast is eggs benedict, but I don't have it very often as it's not very healthy. Most mornings I have boring old cereal!

If you're into cooking, you should try the Julia Child method of making Holandaise sauce in the blender. It's so incredibly easy I'm tempted to make it more often now. You just throw all the ingredients in the blender except for the butter. Melt the butter until it's really hot, then turn the blender on and slowly stream it in. The hot butter will cook the egg, and you will wind up with a really smooth sauce in no time.

That's how I make it! It's quick and works well every time... just wish there were fewer calories ;)

I get up late so the first time I eat is around noon. I have been making the cabbage soup from the GM diet so I will have that and some fresh papaya. I am not doing the whole diet, I just like the soup.

    • 6 large green onions (also called “spring” onions)
    • 2 green peppers
    • 1 or 2 cans of tomatoes (diced or whole)
    • 3 carrots
    • 1 container (10 oz. or so) mushrooms
    • 1 bunch of celery
    • half a head of cabbage
    • 1 package spice only soup mix (In the US, Liptons is a good choice)
    • 1 or 2 cubes of bouillon (optional)
    • 1 48oz can Low Sodium V8 juice (optional)
    • Season to taste with pepper, parsley, curry, garlic powder, etc. (Little to NO SALT!)

Usually I do not eat breakfast because I wake up too late often. :p
But today since I wake up a bit early, I just have a glass of milk and then wait two hours for lunch. LOL

We had a sandwich and an egg...and by "we" I mean Homer and me. He loves eggs and he always knows when I'm eating one - and he won't leave me alone until I share it with him:p

I'm trying to eat healthier so the whole family is having oatmeal and fruit. My sons are complaining though. They usually have their sugar rich cereal for breakfast.

Similar. I thinks granola/muesli bars were invented for breakfast on the go. Ideal for eating whilst driving.:)

I thought I would never go on one o those fad diets. The other night on TV we watched a documentary Eat Fast and Live Longer. Two days of reduced eating a week rather than a full on fast. So I just had a coffee for breakfast.
Animals on a restricted diet have been shown to live longer so don't overfeed your doggie friend.
    This video expires 6th May.

Me too. I'm worried about something so I've just been drinking coffee. When I've got things on my mind, I don't really have an appetite. The homefries livelifeson posted sound awesome, so does the coffee with Bailey's.
