Is this for a doggie bachelor pad?

I came across this on a blog today and it made me l laugh. There isn't any information about it on the blog. Since the bed listed below it is $1200, I am assuming this one costs more.

I can't imagine any dog needing something like this. What is the lamp for? My dog never reads. It does have the water bowl conveniently placed. Can't make Roscoe walk too far!

All I can think of is this dog must be a swinging single. LOL

Ha! I imagine it's probably some rich person's house where they want their doggie to be pampered and the furniture to blend with their own. The dog surely doesn't need a lamp, but hey, maybe it's afraid of the dark?

LOL That lamp is certainly for the owner's happiness and not for the dog's use. :p
I think there should be a cabinet or place for dog toys there too.

I'd like this bed - for myself, lol:p It looks comfortable and I always read before going to sleep so I could use the lamp... I don't need any bowls though:p
I'm not sure if Homer would want to sleep there - probably not, since he prefers to sleep as high as possible:)

I would like this furniture for myself! $1200 is awfully expensive for a pet. The owner is obviously wealthy. The lamp is a little over the top. The doggie bowl and lamp are really cute, but I think the bowl could also be used as a cup holder or a bowl holder. The colors also seem to go well with the background too.

I found another example of absurdly expensive, luxurious dog bed:

I must say that I find it pretty...but why would a dog want to sleep on a shiny fabric and what dog needs a baldachin decorated with feathers?:p

Haha, too cute! I would not understand the silky fabric or the feathers, but my guess that it is really not for the dog but for the owner. It looks really expensive, so the owner probably has exquisite taste and loves to show it! Looks like fun..if only it were large enough for humans! :) !

Lol, I agree, I wish I had a bed like this for myself, I'm sure it would be nice to lie on it:p . My Homer prefers his old pillows anyway.
Although I love pretty things, I think that when it comes to dog beds, comfort is the most important.
This doesn't look comfortable at all:

Honestly, if someone gave me that dog bed as a gift, I would love it. I just wouldn't spend money on it because it's too frivolous.
    It's pretty cute.

That bed looks too small for the dog. That dog kind of looks like my rat terrier, except that mine is black and white, not brown and white.

If this dog bed was human sized, I would love it for myself so I could lounge in front of the TV and eat popcorn from the built in bowl.

Everyone mentions the lamp, but no one finds it weird that the dog bed has a picture frame. I guess if he's a single dog, he needs a picture of his girlfriend.

Did anyone else notice all the weird stuff in the background of the first picture. There's like a rolling table and a weird chair with a book with a picture of a dog in it.

That gold sleigh style bed doesn't even look comfortable. It slopes and it looks hard. Even with a blanket, I don't think a dog would be comfortable in it.

The one with the pomeranian is really too much! Kind of gawdy, if you ask me. A dog that gets that kind of bed probably gets fed from a crystal bowl with a spoon. The dog needs a tiara too. LOL

I noticed that many dogs actually like lying on beds that seem too small for them:p . I don't know, maybe it makes them feel safer or cosier. My Homer often sleeps on one of my pillows which is really tiny.

Claudine, that definitely holds true for Misha. She is far more happy in her tent now that it has her bed and 2 blankets.

I have even noticed with some dogs they will find the smallest area of the floor to sleep in. My brother's Chow mix will always choose the spot right next to the coffee table or the sliding glass door and he'll have his head partially on the object.

My sister's dog stayed with us last week. She chose the corner behind the kitchen table, which is really too small for such a big dog.

So, maybe you are right and it is a security thing.

What kind of dog is Homer? That's a cute name. Did you name him after Mr. Simpson?

This bed is very Paris Hilton. Doesn't Paris have small, yappy dogs?

Homer is the most adorable Yorkshire Terrier, very cheerful and smart. No, I didn't name him after Homer Simpson. I named him after the author of the Odyssey.

Here is another luxury bed, it looks so soft and cosy:

Aww, both the bed and the dog are adorable and fluffy. I should have known you wouldn't name your dog after something ordinary like Homer Simpson.
