This is my Shih Tzu named Chao:

I love to play with him all the time. Actually, I love to annoy him everyday.

Chao seems really charming! I could imagine his reaction every time you annoy him :D How old is he? Shih Tzu dogs are lovable and very sociable :)

I think you should have named him Chewbacca. Did you do something to Chao when he was a puppy? Sometimes a dog can bear a grudge for a very long time.

Well that was a funny name! A Star Wars character right? It's just that my Chao is enjoying the way I annoy him. His face looks mad often but I think that's the way he show that he is happy 'cause he's wagging his tail at the same time. :)

Don't be too sure about the wagging tail, though. I used to have an old dog that wagged his tag as he came near. Then if he didn't like the person, he would take a sharp nip at the calf of that person.

You have a point in there but not all dogs are the same. I am confident that my Chao's case is different. Master knows best. ;)

Good for you. As for Benjamin, the old dog I had, I had to pay out quite a bit of compensation money for the calves that he had nipped.

I just remember something about wagging tail because yesterday I was reading this book 10 Spiritual Lessons You Can Learn from Your Dog and one quote stated there is,

“The reason dogs have so many friends is because they wag their tails instead of their tongues.”

But then again, it could just be one of their trick. ;)

Where tails are concerned, cats use it to mean something totally from dogs. Dogs generally show friendliness by moving their tails. Cats, on the other hand, move their tails from side to side when they are angry. Maybe that's cats and dogs don't get along. Case of mixed signals, I suppose.
