Do you have favorite movies about dogs or have dog characters on it?

Some of my favorite movies with dogs are:
    - 101 Dalmatians and 102 Dalmatians
    - The classic Lassie
    - Firehouse dog
    - 8 Below
    - Dog of Flanders

I used to write articles for a site about movies starring dogs and cats. Some of the movies I reviewed still remain in my memory banks. Here are a few that I can still remember:

    Turner and Hooch.
In this one, Hooch lost the flip at the end.

    8 Below.
The movie was optimistic. In the actual tragedy, most of the dogs didn't make it.

    Hachiko.
Moving it to a Western scenario didn't diminish the power of the real story in the least.

Actually if the mods would make a special section dedicated just to doggie movies, I can share my reviews.

Quite. And he’s nominated for Best Dog in Theatrical Film in Golden Collar Awards. Haha! It’s only now that I learn that such award-giving body exists. As of what I read, it recognizes excellence in film and television... by dogs. Uggie really stole the show in Golden Globe Awards. In fact, he’s the forefront of more celebrity news than the other artists for that awards show.

It was also my first time to know that Best Dog in Theatrical Film in Golden Collar Awards do exists.;)
I have not watched The Artist movie yet but definitely would want to if ever I would have the opportunity to watch it. Hope it will have its premier on local channel/TV.

Homeward Bound was a great movie, but my favorite dog "movie star" of all time is still Toto from Wizard of Oz. I had a terrier mix years ago that was a golden scruffy looking thing...sort of a benji type, and there was a movie that had a dog that looked just like her....but from what you have posted here, I can't recall it. Can anyone think of it? Thanks!

Yes, Air Bud and all the rest of the Buddies series. Of course, talking dogs seem rather goofy but all the movies of the Buddies are lovable.
