I had only been giving my dogs heartworm prevention tablets from March through November (which was approved by my vet). It saved a little bit of money. However, on our last vet visit, the vet told me she was now recommending year-round prevention because the weather has been so unseasonally warm this year. Still, though, can you imagine mosquitos flying around in Ohio in January? Oh well, I've been following her advice. What has been your practice with heartworm prevention?

I can't, but then again, the weather has been so funky that who knows? I can definitely see skipping December and January, but our February was seasonably warm this year, so maybe not. We just do it yearround as I've never really thought about it actually.
